JIGSAW METHOD
Cooperative
classroom- or jigsaw method is a research based on cooperative learning
technique. It helps students to learn together and meet new people. This method
benefit to socialize and learn together. For example; students can be a friend
or know new people who they do
not talk or meet before. I think that students can take responsibility
with the help of this method. For instance; students sometimes do not want to
do homework by their own, using this method can encourage the students to do
homework. Also students learn that people can understand and interpret
differently on the same topic. With the help of this method students learn to
share their knowledge properly. This method can make the lesson enjoyable
because students think, speak, share and more importantly learn new knowledge
by their own. Also, this method decrease the teachers responsibility about teaching
the lecture in detail because teacher gives responsibility to the students.
Teacher is guide and facilitator in this method. Teacher can help or answer the
question of the students if students need. I think that beside all of these
advantages this method also has disadvantage. I think that the use of this
method in crowd class is not appropriate. Teachers can have difficulty to
contol the class. At the same time there would be so much sound which is not
appropriate for learning and teaching a lesson. Briefly I think that this
method has both advantage and disadvantage. If conditions are suitable to make
a lesson with this method then it would be both entertainment and informative.
PRINCIPLES OF INSTRUCTION
Principles of Instruction
1. Appropriateness of students’ level
2. Known to unkown
3. Near to far
4. Clarity
5. Concrete to abstract
6. Feasibility
7. In life
8. Doing
9. Whole
GRADE: Preschool
TOPIC: The Human Body
While teaching something teachers can use some of these principles together. As an example I am going to teach the human body part.
Known to Unknown, and Near to Far
Firstly I will teach the vocabularies of human body which students can see and touch, such as nose, eyes, mouth, teeth, hair and etc. Secondly I will teach the internal organs, such as brain, throat, heart, lung, stomach and etc. All students in preschool know their external organs also they can touch and show their external organs as a teacher first I start to teach external organ. So that I use both known to unknown and near to far principles.
Clarity:

I will organize and lecture the lesson with visual aids, such as pictures, videos, songs of the human body for students to understand the topic better. For example; on Youtube the videos, Body Parts Song for Kids - This is ME! by ELF Learning - ELF Kids Videos and Head, Shoulders, Knees & Toes - Exercise Song For Kids are both informative and entertaining.

Concrete to Abstract:

Abstract and concrete are classifications that denote whether the object that a term describes has physical referents. Abstract objects have no physical referents, whereas concrete objects do. When I mention body part, I can show the concrete object like nose- smell, eyes-see and show the concrete and abstract objects together like brain-mind, heart-love,hurt,feel and etc. I will watch the movie Inside Out with my students to understand better the abstract and concrete.

Feasibility and In life
The topic of human body is already in the life of children’s. To use these principles I will give homework to observe their environment. For instance; students can number of the color of the eyes around their family or they can take picture of different people’s body part and take them to the class in this way students will more involved in the topic.
Doing

I can make handwork with students about body part. For example; they can draw and paint the different part of the body different colors. I can prepare a exercise, for instance; I can stand all students and give directions to them like;
Touch your head
Roll your head around circle
Move your shoulders up and down
Raise your hand
Stretch your arms out and swing them in a circle
Bend your kness, and then stretch out your legs
Whole
At the end of the topic I can prepare a mini exam to evaluate my students’ knowledge. Also I want them to prepare a sketch or hand work about human body part.

DO SCHOOLS KILL CREATIVITY
Analyze
for “Do School Kills Creativity?” by Ken Robinson
According to Ken Robinson,
creativity as important as education, and we should treat it with the same
status.Education system in the whole world make students ready for the
future. On the other hand scientists have no information about the life of the
world. While school prepare the students for future, creativity has been simply
ignored by the school. To meet the need of industrializm, people forget that
every chidren has own speciality.Ken Robinson beautifully described the wrong
direction of education and creativity in his speech “Do School Kills
Creativity”.There are three main analysis step that receiver examine with full
attention. These steps are content and tone, structure of the talk, and delivery.
Content and tone of the speech is
generally about the creativity capacity of children and education system. When
students are educated in schools, education system focus on students head and slightly to the
left side.According to the researches the rate of using the right side of the
brain is decreasing in every period of human life.According to Ken Robinson
children are not frightened of being wrong.Think about a child in five. He/she has
high self confidence.He/she says
whatever he/she thinks, does not afraid of making mistakes because he/she does not know what happens when he/she
make a mistake. When parents educate their kids at the same time they teach
their kids that making mistakes is bad thing. When kids start school the
teacherss punish the student in their every mistake. So that children gradually
start to fright of making mistake, and they lose their creativity. This fault is
not offense of parents or teachers, it is because nonconvertible education system. In short, the
content of the speech is frightened of
being wrong when grow up influence creativity.
It is important to be ready before
starting a speech. It is obvious that Ken Robinson get ready his speech. His
speech has an order. He first starts to mention general themes of the conference. He
specify the themes, his first mention
are relevant to what he wants to talk about. He does not go of target,he
goes with an order. He gradually make ready the audiences to the topic with
examples. The words he chooses for his speech are not excessive academic words.
It appeals every group of age.The environment of the conference of Ken Robinson
is not so serious. He takes the attention of audiences with his examples and jokes. In brief,Ken Robinson
get ready his speech very well and not confusedthe audiences with his word
choice
